Who me, stressed? Oh, you bet I was.

Standing on the top of the management ladder, stress hit me hard.

Denial and shame came along for the ride.

Concentrating was difficult. Remembering, impossible. I had no appetite. Sugar kept me going. I gained weight. I worried. I was hard on myself – driven by overambitious ‘to do’ lists. I wasn’t tired, I was exhausted, but I couldn’t fall asleep. I was so far gone; I couldn’t see a way out.

I wish I knew then, what I practice now.

I had to learn to think and do differently.

It required change – which sucks. Change demands patience.

Something I also had to learn.

I had to understand the meaning of my mindset and what patterns controlled my behavior.
